FAQ - cold Espresso?
Do your espresso shots feel colder than usual? Let’s go over three key tips to help you get a perfect shot.
Tip 1: Preheat your machine to ensure reproducible extraction.
If the machine is too cold, your espresso won’t extract properly. Check the heating time in your user manual and give it enough time to fully warm up before brewing. Most of our machines have a Fast-Heat-Up so you don´t have to wait for long. Also make sure you give your machine some time to heat up after reactivating it from ECO Mode.
Tip 2: Always lock in the portafilter way before you want to pull a shot.
This ensures the portafilter itself is properly heated and doesn´t affect the final extraction temperature. If the portafilter wasn´t locked in, do a 10 second flush to help rise the temperature before brewing and wipe the portafilter dry afterwards.
Also have in mind that a coffee from a cold mug will taste different. So preheat your cup if needed.
Tip 3: Check for scale.
If your brew group is scaled it no longer heats properly. In this case contact your local dealer and ask them for technical assistance. Remember you can consult your nearest dealer through our website.
